Do your Best- in Everything

Just do something. It doesn't have to be extravagant, impressive, big, or fancy. It just has to be what God wants you to do. It could be writing a book, or it could be cleaning the church. It could be preaching a sermon, singing a solo, or it could be entertaining kids while their parents talk. Doing your best doesn't always mean doing the most impressive thing out there. Doing your best means doing what you can do, with the ability God has given you, the very best that you can. Do your best when you serve at church, when you do your devotions, when you pray, when you help your parents or siblings with small things around the house.

“I am only one. But I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” -Edward Everett Hale

God won't ask us to do something that we can't do. He will provide us with the ability and resources to do what He wants us to do. We just have to be willing to determine that we are going to do what He asked us to do, and that we are going to do it the best that we possibly can.

“Shall there be no servants among the gifted ones on earth?” -Charles Sheldon, In His Steps

Just because you can't sing a solo in church doesn't mean you couldn't join the choir. If you can't write a book it doesn't mean that you couldn't write a paragraph or two. Don't let the fact that you can't do one thing stop you from doing another.

“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”-John Wooden

Start somewhere- a sentence becomes a paragraph, a paragraph becomes a chapter, and a chapter becomes a book. Even a skyscraper starts with a blueprint.

"Little by little, a little becomes a lot."-Tanzanian Proverb

I recently heard someone say, "It is what it is." No, it is what you make it. You can make life miserable, boring, empty, and meaningless, or you can make it joyful, fun, and full of meaning. What's the difference between these 2 types of lives? What makes the difference? Just this; Serving the Lord. The song goes:

"There is joy, joy, joy in serving Jesus, joy that throbs within my heart. Every moment, every hour as I draw upon His power, there is joy, joy, joy that never shall depart."

Do what God wants you to do. And don't just do it good enough. Don't just 'get by'. Do it your very best.

"Young people, it's time to choose to respond to the challenge. It's time to choose to follow Jesus Christ." -Bro. Luke Tullock

"What would happen if every young person was challenged? The world would be turned upside-down. If every young person was challenged and then did it, the world wouldn't be the same." -Bro Micah McCurry
