An Evaluation of Priorities

What things are highest on your list of priorities? If you could only get one thing on your to-do list done today, what would it be? Clean your room, feed your dog, do your math? Are you going to go to church or to your sports game, or party, or anything else?      So how are you setting your priorities? Are you praying for God to show you His will and lining them up accordingly? Or are you just deciding what you want to do most? "Hmmm- do I want to go to church and listen to Bro so-and-so preach through the book of Haggai, or do I want to go to my (game, party, etc. etc.)?" I wonder which one you would choose. You, your flesh, will choose to do what you want to do, no matter what God wants.      Setting priorities according to Gods Will can seem difficult, but if you pray and ask Him for help and guidance, He will give you peace about the right decisions. And some things are obviously laid out for us in His Word. "Forsake not the assembling of yourse...

By My Works

For quite a while I have had the verse James 2:18 in the sidebar. It says, " Yea, a man may say, thou hast faith, and I have works. There is no way we can add to our take away from that.      "...I will shew thee my faith by my works." Are you known only for what you don't do? "Those are really good teens! Just think, they could be out doing drugs or robbing stores, but they don't!" People should know that you don't do those things, but you should also be doing good things. "Those teens really love the Lord. They serve in their churches, they're a strong witness for God!" Your works should c...

Do you need God?

“Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.” - C.H. Spurgeon      Prayer is essential. A wise man recently said, "When you don't pray that's you personally telling God, 'I don't need you'." Wow. We would never say right out loud, "I don't need God" but when we don't pray, we are telling Him that. If you realize that you need God, pray, and let Him know that you know that!
