Satan, you can't have this one

This week I had the great experience of leading one of my coworkers to the Lord. It was one of the greatest things I've ever gotten to do. I was so happy the entire day after it happened, I couldn't stop grinning. I wanted to tell everyone. After all the times I'd witnessed to people- finally! I got to see one of them actually make the decision to accept Christ! It made me realize something; if you want to rekindle your fire for God then go witness to someone! The feeling of witnessing to someone and having them accept Christ, knowing that that person can spend eternity in Heaven, knowing they will never have to face Hell- it's an incredible feeling.       After I told my youth pastor what happened he told me wo write down what happened and how it happened so I would never forget it. I did that and then got my own idea. I have a world map on my wall with quotes about soul-winning and witnessing on it. I took a piece of paper, wrote the date and m...

Second Chances

Do you feel like you've messed up? Done something that you can't ever change and wish that you could go back to do things differently? Well, whatever that mistake is, you're right. You can't change it. But that mistake doesn't have to define you. I've been thinking for the past few days about all of the people in the Bible who got second chances.     When I think of second chances the first name that comes to mind is Jonah. Jonah made a big mistake- and God gave him a second chance to do what he was told. The Israelites were given many chances to do what God wanted before they finally ended up wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. God gave David a second chance after he murdered a man.     If you're feeling like you've messed up, remember that God is willing to give you another chance. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and you'll get it.      But there's one more thing. You have to take the chance. Jonah ended up misera...

God is My Refuge

Todays post is not going to be long, but I hope it is helpful. I have had what I've been calling, "a depressing week". Thus today I am not quite as jovial as usual. It's not that anything bad has happened to me, things have actually been going quite well. The thing is, for about four days in a row this past week I have found out about something hard or sad in one of my friends or coworkers lives. This past week I've watched people I care about go through very hard things, and it has made me sad. I try so hard to be comforting and say the right things, but I always know that I can't truly take away the sadness they're feeling. Sometimes situations like this can make us feel helpless. But I have to keep reminding myself of the Bible verse that says that God is our refuge and strength, and that He is always there to help in trouble. I can't change situations or make them better, but He can. I just have to keep taking everything to Him. I'll alwa...

Love Like This

This month's devotional comes from Bro Steve Brown from Heritage Baptist Church in Palmyra N.Y. (And yes, I know it's a day late😂)   Beloved, if God love so loved us, we ought also to love one another" I John 4:11 Love in War     I remember hearing a story about two friends who fought together in World War I. During battle, one was gravely wounded. The other soldier asked his lieutenant for permission to rescue him. The officer warned, "You can go, but it's not worth it- our friend is probably dead, and you may throw your life away." Ignoring the warning, the soldier crawled through the gunfire, reached his friend, and carried him back to the trench. Both were mortally wounded. The officer said, "I told you it wasn't worth it." The soldier replied, "It was worth it. When I got to him, he was still alive, and he said, 'Jim...I knew you'd come.'" Love in Deed God's love is not just something we receive- it's somethin...
