Are you Willing to Go? Part 1

Over the next three weeks we are going to be studying four people who the Lord told to "Go". Then on the fourth week we will talk about how God has told us to go.

"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee...So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him." Genesis 12:1,4b

Imagine this; God tells you, "I want you to leave the country and go serve me somewhere else."  You respond, a little frightened, "Where, Lord?"

He answers, "I'll tell you later."

Now you're shocked and terrified. "You'll tell me later!? Lord, I can't just leave and not know where I'm going! I need to plan!"

"Don't worry. I'll take care of you."

You sigh and then say, "Alright, Lord."

This is what happened to Abram. The Lord said get up and go to where I say. Abram got up and left, just trusting God. Would you be willing to do that? Now, it's doubtful that God is going to tell you to get up and move to somewhere that He won't tell you- but if He did tell you to do something that seems ridiculous to your human brain, would you be willing to do it?

Of course, Abram's story doesn't finish there. Later on he failed to trust God and went into Egypt.

You can start out fine, do what God wants you to do, and then half-way through fail to trust God and only get half of your blessing. If you are doing what God wants you to do, don't ruin in by not trusting Him. God loves you completely, so you can trust Him completely.
