Choose Today

 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua 24:15


    Choose you this day whom ye will serve. I have three thoughts about this verse. The first is that if you know that you're not saved, be saved today! 2 Corinthians 2:6 says, "...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 

    The theme that my youth leader chose for our youth group this year is taking the next step. That is another area that this verse could be applied to. If you know that God is calling you to do something, choose right now to do it! If you know that God is calling you to a specific area of ministry, surrender to it! If God wants you to be a missionary, tell Him you are willing to go and then tell someone else about it- your parents, your pastor, your best friend- just tell people that you know will hold you accountable. (so in 5 years when you want to give up and work at McDonalds they'll come and slap you upside the head and tell you to shape up😉) Even if it's not a 'big' thing like God's calling on your life, still tell someone about so that they can hold you to it. If you know you need to start waking up earlier, set your alarm and then tell your younger sibling about it. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help wake you up...

    The third thing I see in this verse is daily choosing to follow Christ. In 1 Corinthians 15:31 Paul said, "I die daily". Every morning when you wake up, renew your decision to follow after Jesus. Pray and re-commit every single day so that the decision never grows old. Choose today to live your life for the glory of God!

    Good thought though. Every day we should dedicate to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

The Return of Lester Holmes

It's here!! After many months of much hard work by many people, it's finally done! Thank you to everyone who acted, played, sang, filmed, edited, worked behind the scenes and so many more things!
