Again, I would like to say...

And here we are at this time of year again...summer. School's out (for some of you who graduated like me, school's really OUT!), and you have a little more free time. Maybe you're working a job or just doing fun things that you enjoy.

I know I have said this before, but it was a long time ago. So again, I would like to suggest...if you have the opportunity, go to camp! Going to a Christian camp is an incredible way to have fun, strengthen your walk with Christ, and meet some new friends.

I personally always have a ton of fun when I go to camp (I've been to three different ones through the years and I've loved all of them). Not to say that there won't be people who are annoying or cause problems, because that happens everywhere. But besides being so much fun, camp is a great place to focus on your spiritual life for a week. If you ask the Holy Spirit to work in your heart during the week, He will. You won't have the opportunity to go forever, so go while you can.

"Camp is certainly one of my favorite memories when I look back on my "teen years".
The only thing I regret is skipping a year, I know that I missed out on some great memories and possibly decisions that could have been helpful for me. The camaraderie, the fun, the great preaching, the ridiculous games (that I did and still do enjoy) are all parts of camp that are so very beneficial to anyone who may have the opportunity to go!" -Bro Luke Tullock

"Camp is a place with great games, fun people, and good preaching that helps you make great decisions that can impact the rest of your life." -Cortney Corbett

"My favorite thing about camp is the people, you can meet someone for the first time and feel like you've known them forever. I have many friends that I only see at camp, but it doesn't feel awkward, you feel like you've been friends your entire life. The preaching at camp is amazing too, so many preachers and sermons you probably won't hear somewhere else. I could say a lot more, but I won't. Camp is my favorite time of year." -CS

Even if you don't get the opportunity to go to camp this year, try to focus on coming closer to God this summer. You may have extra time or opportunity to serve in ministries that you usually don't. If your church has a Vacation Bible School, see how you can help out with it. If there's a way for you to be a blessing to others this summer, go for it! Find a lonely person in your church and be a friend to them. Take the time to try and influence a younger kid in your life for Jesus.

No matter what you're doing this summer, take the time to be a blessing to others and serve God the best you can. Grow in your walk with Christ and your relationships with others. And don't forget to be joyful and enjoy your blessings!
