Second Chances

Do you feel like you've messed up? Done something that you can't ever change and wish that you could go back to do things differently? Well, whatever that mistake is, you're right. You can't change it. But that mistake doesn't have to define you. I've been thinking for the past few days about all of the people in the Bible who got second chances.

When I think of second chances the first name that comes to mind is Jonah. Jonah made a big mistake- and God gave him a second chance to do what he was told. The Israelites were given many chances to do what God wanted before they finally ended up wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. God gave David a second chance after he murdered a man.

If you're feeling like you've messed up, remember that God is willing to give you another chance. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and you'll get it.

But there's one more thing. You have to take the chance. Jonah ended up miserable over a dead plant, and the Israelites ended up wandering in the wilderness. You have to take the chance God gives you and get back on track. You can't do it without God's help, but you also can't do it if you don't try.

So, if you feel like you've messed things up ask God for a second chance and do things His way. It's a lot easier than whales and the wilderness.
